What You Should Know Before Hiring A Contractor

  The cost of low price

In today's economy price seems to be everything, but is going with the lowest price the best deal or even the lowest price when everything is said and done. Watch the news or listen to your friends and neighbors, I have heard and seen it many times, Someone takes the lowest price, got a decent job for their money, paid their contractor and a couple of months later find their home had been liened by the supplier because the contractor did not pay his bill, costing the homeowner thousands, or the home owner who hired an unlicensed contractor with no insurance or workers comp, a helper fell off a ladder and broke his arm, the home owner was responsible for the bill.

Or like the one we just cleaned, a four year old shingle roof that was supposed to be antique silver BUT was BLACK from mold, the shingles were not Florida approved and did not have magnesium in them. When the customer call their contractor they got no answer. Costing them hundreds to have it cleaned and it will have to be done every few years.

The most common problem is shoddy workmanship and paying for one product and getting a much cheaper version. Can you tell the difference between Owens Corning Standard 30 year shingles and 100 mph Duration shingles from the ground, I can't and this is what I do.

When you get several quotes and most are within a few hundred dollars of each other and one comes in a thousand or fifteen hundred dollars lower. Don't jump right on that lower price, All of us pay the same price for materials, our General Liability insurance is almost the same and we pay exactly the same amount for workers comp, so ask your self one question,

WHAT IS HE "NOT" DOING THAT MAKES HIM SO MUCH CHEAPER.
